Walter C. Turner, D.MIN.

ASSOCIATE Chair, Undergraduate Department of Religious Studies

Dr. Walter C. Turner has been an instructor at Beulah Heights University since the Summer Semester 1999. He is married to Margaret Gray Turner and they have two children, Claire Elizabeth and Christopher Gray. Margaret has served as Minister of Music and Arts at West Rome United Methodist Church in Rome, Georgia, since September, 2016.

Claire is married to Andy McMahan. She is a graduate of Lee University, and is the RTI facilitator for Mayfield Elementary School in the Cleveland City School system. Andy is an American History teacher at Bradley Central High School. Claire and Andy have one child, Caitlin Elizabeth, 11, who attends Cleveland Middle School and is a talented Soccer player.

Chris is a graduate of Woodland High School in Bartow County. He is a talented guitarist, and is employed with Cracker Barrel Restaurant. He is father to our grandson, Mason Gray, who is 8 years old and in the Third grade at Pine Log Elementary School. He is in the Gateway Program at Pine Log.

In February, 2005, Dr. Turner was appointed Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Beulah Heights. He is now Associate of Chair, with primary responsibility of the Undergraduate Religious Studies Department. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Geology, a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Doctor of Ministry from The Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Dr. Turner has served in pastoral ministry in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. He currently serves as Pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Rome, Georgia. He has traveled, preached, and taught internationally in Ghana, West Africa, Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, numerous cities in Israel, Athens, Greece, and Istanbul and Selcuk (modern day Ephesus), Turkey. He has written a study on the Kings of Israel. He is an Ordained Teaching Elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and serves on numerous presbytery and general church committees. He was elected to Who’s Who among America’s Teachers in 2006.

His greatest love is teaching and interacting with his students. He feels God has placed him just where he is supposed to be in this day and hour! He is excited to be a part of Beulah Heights University in this, its greatest year!
