Dr. Reginaldo Paranhos Braga Jr. is Assistant Professor of Christian Education in the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and a pastor of the Presbyterian Church (USA). A native of Brazil, Rev. Dr. Braga was ordained by the Congregational Church in Brazil (UIECB) and served as seminary faculty and pastor. While in Brazil, Dr. Braga was assistant and regional director for SETE (Society of Evangelical Theological Students) developing programs of leadership and theological reflection for seminarians. In venture business Dr. Braga was the founder and president of an alternative Graphic Design company inspired in the Christian principles of Integral Mission, and committed to the education of young artists in Recife Brazil. Dr. Braga was also part of the FTL (Latin American Theological Fraternity) movement before leaving for further studies in Princeton NJ. In the US since 1994, Dr. Braga holds a Masters in Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Education and Religion from Columbia University/Teachers College and Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York. An educator, a theologian, and a Christian pastor, Dr. Braga served as CPE hospital chaplain, including as leadership chaplain for the efforts of Spiritual Care after 9/11, and developed multicultural ministries in the heart of Manhattan. Founder and president of the board of Point of Encounter, a not-for-profit committed to fostering multiculturalism and leadership training, Dr. Braga is profoundly interested in leadership development, multiculturalism, education, and the envisioning of a public theology empowering leaders in all sectors of society towards the common good of all. |
